Rev. Dr. Cynthia Cearley, Co-Pastor
Cindy has served Montview as a co-pastor since the early 1990’s. Prior to that she was the Associate Pastor working primarily with youth and children. Cindy received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado in 1975. Subsequently, she received her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and her Doctor of Ministry from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Cindy is married to her husband of 30 years, Doug McArthur. They have two college-aged children, Rebecca and Scott. Cindy welcomes the chance to get to know those new to Montview and is available for pastoral care. She believes that the faith and vitality of Montview has much to offer people and treasures each person who becomes a part of the Montview community. Rev. Greg Cummins, Co-Pastor
Greg came to Montview in 2002 and this is his first full-time pastorate. Before coming to Montview he worked with people with a variety of developmental and physical disabilities. His Master of Divinity degree is from the Iliff School of Theology (1998) and his undergraduate work is in Business and Finance at Transylvania University in Kentucky, where he grew up. He and his wife Laura have two young children and a labradoodle named Henry. When he is not at the church he enjoys tennis, soccer and coffee shops. He has budding interests in photography and stone masonry.
Rev. Sheri Fry, Associate Pastor for Youth Ministries
Sheri joined Montview’s Program Staff in 1999. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from University of CA at Santa Barbara and an Masters of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology. She was ordained in the Presbyterian Church as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in 2008. Sheri works with youth in 6th grade through 12th grade as well as participates in college ministry. She is married to Brian Pendleton and together they have three children. Sheri enjoys travel, mountain biking, playing outside and spending time with her family and the youth from Montview Church.
Sandy Prouty, Minister of Children & Families
Sandy joined Montview’s Program Staff in 2002. She holds a BA and MA in Education and was a teacher and administrator in both public and private schools for 24 years. Sandy feels that she was called to her work with the children and families of this church and the call continues. She very much enjoys the program development and relationship aspects of this position. Sandy has four children, two girls and two boys, who are all in their twenties. Her favorite pastimes are reading, running and having long conversations with family and friends.
John Kuzma, Minister of Music
John has been Montview’s Minister of Music since 1987. He holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Illinois and as a Fulbright Scholar studied at the University of Copenhagen. Before coming to Denver he was music director of the American Boychoir (Princeton, NJ), the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and St. Paul’s Cathedral, San Diego. John has performed widely as a concert organist and is active as a composer. His compositions have been performed by the Colorado and Chicago Symphony Orchestras, many regional orchestras and choirs in addition to many Colorado ensembles. In recent years he has renewed his childhood interest in Latin and Greek studies and spends most of his non musical hours in efforts with classical authors and other reading. John’s wife since 1968, Bess, is a school administrator.
