Within each of us is a yearning to experience life in its depth, as well as to connect to the larger world around us. Ultimately we seek a sense of inner relation with all creation and with the unity that underlies it – but getting there is quite a journey. At the Center for Spiritual Life at Montview we explore many dimensions of the inner life of the Spirit so that we may enter into communion with God along our own unique paths- to experience, touch, and feel the joy of the Holy Spirit alive within us. We also explore ways to carry that experience out through our lives into the world, practicing how to remain more centered and compassionate in our hectic and sometimes frightening world.
The Center for Spiritual Life offers classes, retreats and seminars that are designed to deepen our relationship with God through experiences of mind, body and soul. We are seeking more than information on the spiritual life. We seek ways to explore and enter into a deeper expression of faith, which is primarily experiential and interactive. While we talk about different theological and spiritual perspectives we also honor the heritage of our historic tradition and approach scripture as foundational yet ever reforming, so that we might become more deeply aligned with God.
Ultimately we hope our approach to the spiritual life is as much formative as informative. What we do is in the service of faith formation, engaging the mind and the heart together as nourishment for our journey.

The Enneagram and Spiritual Growth:
Providing a Dynamic Tool for Spiritual Growth and Transformation
Saturday, February 13, 2010
8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Combining traditional spiritual wisdom with modern psychology, the Enneagram is a powerful map for helping us identify the personality patterns that interfere with our ability to truly love ourselves, other people, and God. By helping us understand the roots of our “false self” and pathways for change, it provides a dynamic tool for spiritual growth and transformation. This workshop will use interviews of the different Types, individual reflection, and personal sharing to help deepen your understanding. Handouts will be provided.
If you are new to the Enneagram, we recommend that you read The Essential Enneagram by David Daniels and Virginia Price and/or visit www.worldwideenneagram.com to help you identify your type and get an overview of the system. We recommend that you download “The Enneagram 101.”
Facilitators: Frank R. Timmons, PhD., P.C. & Karen J. Timmons, Psy.D. For reservations contact the Center for Spiritual Life Reservation Line at (303) 355- 1651 ext. 117 or Christensen@montview.org. Tuition fee is $50, with $20 discount for additional family members. Since we do not want cost to be a barrier, please pay whatever you feel able to. Fee payable when you arrive and lunch will be provided.

Services of Prayer – 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays in February at 9:30 a.m. - Barrett Chapel

Healing Renewal Service
Would you like to make your faith more meaningful in your daily life? Moving the strength of our faith from Sundays to “Alldays” requires that we try new things, see our lives in new ways and be open to faith impacting our every moment. A gathering of folks dedicated to the idea that our faith can have impacts on healing (in all aspects of our lives) welcomes your presence. This is a revised and more relaxed healing service to inspire us in relating to the world, our nation, work and relationships, as well as physical healing. Join us on the 4th Sunday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the Barrett Chapel for music, prayer and energy focused on healing.
Labyrinth Walk Date and time TBA.
In preparation for our outdoor labyrinth installation in the Outdoor Sanctuary in the Spring, we will have an indoor class and walk on a canvas labyrinth February/March 2010.
Spiritual Direction at Montview
Attending to the presence of the holy is often enhanced by the company of a trusted companion. A “soul friend,” “spiritual guide,” or “spiritual director” is one who receives us as we are, attends to the longings of our soul and assists us in discerning God in our lives. Issues in our lives are addressed not as problems to be solved, but as occasions for attending to God’s loving presence through another mode of seeing and knowing. For further information contact Ann Christensen, Director of Spiritual Life, ext. 117.
