Youth Education

Our call to ministry in the Youth Program is to help all of God’s people, particularly youth, grow and develop life giving faith.  We invite youth in 6-12th grade to participate with us as we learn about spiritual practices and actively experience Christ’s work in the world.  We want our youth to be engaged in thinking about faith and life.  Faith under Construction invites their questions, encourages them in community life and allows them to practice their faith.  Our task in youth ministry is to help them envision faith as a lifelong journey of growth.  It is an activity shaped by the Gospel, alive to the gifts of the young while teaching practical ways of living out their faith.

Youth ministry at Montview exists to call youth to be followers of Christ, to respond to the needs and interests of youth and to connect them to the larger church, the community and the world.  It is here to help them grow their faith so they can use it to discover their own gifts and talents and recognize God’s activity in their life.

Parents…faith shaping in the church and the home are important. You have the unique opportunity and influence to point the attention of your youth to our church’s youth ministry and to the practices you incorporate in your home.  The pressures on you as parents are great as you decide what activities and events in which you want to encourage your children to participate.  Faith is the foundation for everything you hope will come to your children.  Montview Church is here to support you as well as your youth.  We hope we can discuss ways to live and we want to offer ways to help youth be discerning of Christ in the world.
