1902-2002:
Montview Celebrates 100 Years
The Spirit of Montview, Centennial Book When Montview celebrated its Centennial anniversary in 2002, it turned the page in the church family album from one century to the next from the first few dedicated members worshipping in a tent on a mud lot, to the sizable, equally committed congregation of today. Faces change as one generation gives way to the next, and the tent has been replaced by sturdy stone, but the vision of ministering to the needs of the community of Denver, and the world has never wavered. Throughout the years, the members of Montview Church have poured their time, talents, and offerings into expanding the church and its facilities, while maintaining a vigorous commitment to local and global mission work. The Centennial Campaign raised early $1 million dollars to be used equally for mission projects and for sanctuary restoration including the renovation of the organ. Now for the first time in 50 years, Montview has new paint, lighting, and flooring in the sanctuary. The organ has clean pipes, a new console, and greater dynamic range. In Nepal, Patan Hospital has a new children's wing, thanks to the Centennial Campaign. Other global and local mission recipients include the Hangzhou Seminary in China, women's banking efforts in Bolivia, Habitat for Humanity House, Metro CareRing, Home of Neighborly Service, and Highlands Presbyterian Camp. The Spirit of Montview, Centennial Book The Spirit of Montview chronicles the churchs first 100 years in 143 photos, 326 pages and a cast of thousands.
