Brian Kershisnik is a current Utah artist. His gift seems to be his creation of prints that are simple and complex; straightforward, layered and timely.
As with all images, we each bring our lives and experiences to overlay what has been born to the artist. As we complete this loop of communication, we just might touch on something universal and true.
We might see in What is next? our obligation to the children of the world, an obligation to remember they are watching and wondering with little power against huge implications. They are vulnerable and impressionable and they need us to speak and act and listen in alignment with the values we profess.
What is next? Maybe all we can know is that the next time we have a choice to be kind, we will be. The next time we have a chance to serve someone in need even with just an acknowledgement of their presence and a smile, we will. The next time we are called to live our faith showing our children what it means to accept, respect, confess and forgive, we will answer.
May it be so in God’s name and theirs.
In gratitude, faith and hope,
