Spring Concert: Cantata Sueños
April 21 | 7:00pm (Sanctuary)

Montview’s Westminster Choir is delighted to present the Colorado Premiere of Mexican Composer Arturo Márquez’s cantata for peace and justice, entitled “Sueños” (Dreams). The work sets texts by Mexican poet Guillermo Velázquez, Chief Seattle, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to Márquez’s highly evocative music, featuring traditional Mexican folk forms alongside other South American dance styles. The concert is accompanied by the Montview Orchestra (comprised of musicians from the Colorado Symphony, Opera and Ballet), and admission is made FREE by the Sacred Concert Fund.

Westminster Choir

Frequently thought of as “the church within the church,” Montview’s globally toured Westminster Choir is both the cornerstone of weekly worship music for the Montview congregation, and the cornerstone of the Montview experience for the choir’s 80+ congregational volunteer members. The choir rehearses Thursday nights and sings for worship Sunday mornings, September – June. The choir is led by Minister of Music Adam Waite (conductor) and Associate Minister of Music Yinying Luo (accompanist). College Students: CLICK HERE to apply to the Choral Arts Fellowship.

From our 4,000+ pipe four-manual sanctuary organ to our five-octave bell choir, Montview is fortunate to be able to share these beautiful sounds in our weekly worship. We also regularly invite musicians from the Denver community into our worship, including members of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and jazz faculty from Metro State.
