Igor Razdrogin was born in 1923 in Leningrad. He became a prominent artist of the USSR. He was a member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation focusing on scenes and people of the Motherland and their productivity under the Communist system. This young girl is doing her job to support the ideology and economy of the USSR. Women were an important force in these efforts.
This striking piece speaks of productivity with lines and lines of process and hard work in the background. It does not speak of the heart or enthusiasm of this worker. Dutiful, yes.
Happy, no. Her face seems to silently speak of youth and resignation.
We are grateful again for the documentation of a time in history for all generations by an artist who shared his view and his exacting talent and brushwork.
May our prayers in the year ahead and beyond be for workers around the world. May we pray for justice and contentment for them against those who actually control their existence and care most for their own profits. May they not suffer. May their someday reward be great. . . Amen.
In gratitude, faith and hope,
